Elections
2014
Elections for all 150 seats in the Texas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 4, 2014. Those candidates who did not receive 50 percent or more of the vote in their party primary on March 4 faced an additional May 27 primary runoff. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections was December 9, 2013. Incumbent Carol Alvarado defeated Susan Delgado in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[1][3][4]
2013
Delgado ran for election in the special election for Texas State Senate District 6. The seat was vacant following Mario Gallegos's death in October 2012. Delgado lost facing Carol Alvarado (D), Sylvia Garcia (D), Joaquin Martinez (D), Rodolfo M. Reyes (D), R.W. Bray (R), Dorothy Marie Olmos (R) and Maria Selva (G) in the special election on January 26, 2013. The top two vote-getters, Alvarado and Garcia, went to a runoff.[5][2][6][7][8][9]
