I have led the marketing departments of major media brands, most recently at Parents magazine. I am also the author and publisher of a children’s picture book, Billy the Rescue Dog, a true story about my dog (you can find it at the Foster Library!). Currently, I am Treasurer of Borders Farm, and a Member of the Planning Board.

In my 30+ year career I have been responsible for:

--Managing multi-million dollar budgets --Hiring, leading, and mentoring personnel --Developing—and executing—strategic plans --Analyzing programs and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

--Building relationships with diverse groups, fostering collaboration to achieve common goals
  • As a Planning Board member, I was a liaison with Camoin Associates, the consultants hired to provide a roadmap for Foster’s economic growth. The Planning Board has made progress on pieces of their proposal; however we need to create an actual strategic plan for growth, and we need to expand the pool of expertise working on this by creating (one more time!) an economic development committee that is representative of a wide cross-section of townspeople.
  • In my volunteer work as Treasurer of Borders Farm, and my role as a manager of large departments, I have developed and overseen large budgets. As a Town Council member, I would review all spending and contracts to ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely.
  • My working career was spent in media marketing and communications, and I will put that experience to work for the town, making sure that every possible avenue is employed to keep residents informed and engaged.
Foster Town Council has a narrower policy focus than state or national government. At the town level, economic development, environmental protection, housing, integrity, inclusion are at the top of my list.
Honesty, integrity, equality, intelligence, ability to compromise, a commitment to equity and making the lives better for all citizens
I am a problem-solver who builds relationships with diverse groups, fostering collaboration to achieve common goals. I am smart, resourceful, a good listener, and have expertise with budgets, reviewing contracts, managing personnel, and as Planning Board member, have an awareness of the town's planning needs. I have a strong moral compass and a commitment to doing what is best for all the townspeople.
Sustainable business growth, fiscal responsibility, personnel management, transparency in decision making, providing accessibility to meetings, developing a plan for the future health and growth of the town that balances the importance of Foster's irreplaceable natural resources.
I remember the first walk on the moon. My parents were glued to the television and told my sister and me that this was an historic day.
My first full time job was assistant to the publisher of a trade magazine, Electronics Test. I don't remember how long I was there (it was a long time ago). Perhaps between 1-2 years.
I have many favorite books, but the most beautiful book I've read to date is Ross Gay's Inciting Joy. It is a book of essays that touch on so many essential topics and issues and every word is perfect.
Town Council members should have some experience in town governance, serving on a board or commission, or at a minimum, frequent attendance at Council meetings.
Honesty, integrity, fiscal oversight experience, experience in managing employees, contract negotiations, critical thinking, good listening skills, intelligence and a willingness to learn.
I am notoriously the worst joke teller ever.
The Foster Town Council must provide full financial transparency, and there must be no hint of a conflict of interest among its members.
