Susan Jones was a 2015 candidate for the 30th District Court in Kentucky. She withdrew her candidacy on August 20, 2015.[1] She also ran for the 30th District Court in 2014.[2]

Education

Jones graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Law.[3]

Career

Early in her legal career, Jones worked for the Jefferson Circuit Court as a staff attorney while simultaneously working as a trial commissioner for the district court. She has also worked for the M. Lee Smith Publishing Company as an editor of the legal periodical, Sixth Circuit Review. In 2003, Jones took a position as prosecutor for the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office. While serving as prosecutor, she also taught paralegal classes at a local junior college in addition to beginning a part-time private practice of cases involving consumer law and small business assistance.[3]

Jones filed to run for the 30th District Court in 2015 but withdrew from the race on August 20.[1]

General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.0 percent of the vote. She competed against incumbent Judge Gina Kay Calvert. [2]
