Candidate Connection

Susan Moran Palmer participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 11, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Susan Moran Palmer's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Reduce gun violence

2) preserve and improve the Affordable Care Act and maintain Medicaid Expansion
3) Improve working class access to opportunity through education, training and a living wage.[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

We need to change our prospective on accessible healthcare. Instead of looking at it as a national right or as evidence of over reach of the federal government we need to see it as an obstacle to our countries growth. Our country is one of the best countries for entrepreneurship, but lack of portable, affordable healthcare is like cement shoes on our economy, dragging and slowing its growth. We have the largest GDP of any country and spend the most on healthcare and have the worst medical outcomes across our population. We need to improve the insurance marketplace of the Affordable Care Act and maintain the Medicaid expansion.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Candidate Connection

Susan Moran Palmer participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 6, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Susan Moran Palmer's responses follow below.[4]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Affordable & Accessible Healthcare

2) Sensible Living Wage
3) Curbing Gun Violence[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Affordable & Accessible Healthcare. As a healthcare professional with more than 30 years of experience, I understand the importance of affordable and accessible healthcare coverage. My first priority will be to defend the Affordable Care Act. Sensible Living Wage Ohioans shouldn't have to worry about making rent or affording their groceries because they're underpaid. We must explore raising the minimum wage to a livable wage, and tying that wage to inflation. Curbing Gun Violence We owe it to the victims of gun violence to consider and pass sensible gun reform laws in the United States. We must require a background check for every gun sale, and limit the sale of weapons of war.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]
