Susan Pierson Sonderby

Susan Pierson Sonderby was a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Northern District of Illinois. She was appointed for a fourteen-year term on October 1, 1986 and was reappointed by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on December 14, 1999 to a second 14-year term beginning October 1, 2000.[1] She retired from the court on May 15, 2012.[2]

Education

Judge Sonderby attended The University of Illinois for her Bachelors degree in 1969 and The John Marshall Law School for her J.D. in 1973.[1]

Local career

Sonderby was in the Consumer Protection Division, Litigation Section from 1977 to 1978 and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. She was Chief for the Consumer Protection Division from 1978 to 1983 and from 1983 to 1986 she was the Assistant Attorney General. She was a United States Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois.[1]
