I am a very family oriented person that wants to make life better for not just my family, but my community. I am a veteran that served 12 years, to include one deployment to Iraq. I am a substitute teacher for Tri-City United School District, soccer coach, 4H Club Leader, member at the Le Center American Legion, and board member for the PTO. I have been married to my husband for 10 years now, and we have two young children that attend our local district.
  • My first goal is to make life easier with trash service inside the city limits of Le Center.
  • Second goal is to update the city website along with making it possible for our citizens to pay their water bill online.
  • Third goal is to get more people to come to our town by holding events in town that introduce people to our businesses.
I am passionate about making our town a great place to live and raise a family without making taxes so outrageously high that people can't afford to live here. Public safety is also a passion and I want to make sure that all of our citizens are safe here.
There are a lot of people in my life that I look up to for various reasons but the one that stands out the most is my mom. She raised me all by herself with no help from my father, while she worked several jobs just to make ends meet. I feel like I have a better understanding of all walks of life because of where I started out and how far I have come since then. If she hadn't let me join the military at 17 years old, there are opportunities that I wouldn't have had such as deploying to Iraq and seeing how people live there compared to the US. I am grateful for everything that I have, and I have worked hard for.
An elected official should always have standards that they live by no matter what aspect of life it is such as business or home life. Integrity is the most important standard to me. It shouldn't matter what your party affiliation is but that you are fair to everyone and give them a voice to be heard.
I am determined, caring, strong, have a bias for action, have integrity, good listener, authentic, always willing to try harder.
The legacy that I would like to leave is that our community may be small, but we are strong and a safe place to raise a family.
My first historical even that happened in my lifetime that I remember was 9/11/2001, I was 16 years old.
My very first job was working at a Denny's restaurant and I worked there for a total of 2 years while l was in high school. I left this job because I graduated high school and joined the military.
A struggle in my life was to find a career outside of the military that I enjoyed and wanted to do every day. Helping others has been something that I have fully enjoyed.
The mayor should make themselves available for members of the community to bring things to their attention and see if they can find an answer to it. The mayor should be involved in community events because they want to be there, not just because they are mayor.
The most important responsibility for a mayor should be the voice of the citizens to go up to whatever level they need to within the political aspect of the state.
I love that our city is small and everyone knows most everyone. It's safe for our children to go outside without having to hover over them constantly. I also love that our town is small enough to be able to walk pretty much everywhere in town for any events or shopping.
I believe a big challenge is the way that our city takes care of trash, with the blue bags. The garbage truck that the city just recently purchased isn't new and will have more upkeep which will cost the city more money. Along with paying for the insurance for that vehicle and making sure that the drivers all have good driving records. There is a lot of cost associated with this to include making sure that the employees are covered by work comp just in case of an incident when the employees are picking up the trash at each home.

Another big challenge is going to be making sure that taxes don't get too high while still being able to maintain everything required within the city.
The ideal relationship between our city and the state would be to make sure that our voices are heard even though we are a small community. We are still important to the make up of our entire state.
What do you call a polar bear with no teeth?

A gummy bear
The mayor's office and law enforcement need to work together and be open to each other to make sure the city runs smoothly at all times.
