I have over 24 years experience in appraisal, real estate sales, management, and customer service. I have the expertise and leadership skills necessary to turn the Assessor's Office into a valuable resource for the constituents of Pima County.

As the only candidate with experience in the Pima County Assessor's Office, (7 years), and the private sector as a property tax advocate, I have a unique perspective that will allow me to ensure fairness to all the taxpayers of Pima County.

I will establish trust with the community by bring transparency to the office, creating new lines of communication, being available to answer questions and provide information concerning valuation. I will also bring awareness to the public on all available tax exemptions and apply them when applicable.

I will create inclusiveness by making the office more accessible and user friendly to all members of the community. I will implement home visits for those that can not easily access the downtown facility, pop up satellite offices in the outlying areas of Pima county, and a bilingual website and publications that reflect our diverse community.

  • A culture of service needs to be brought back into Government.
  • Government should be inclusive and elected offices should be representative of the community they serve.
  • Public offices need to make more of an effort to engage with the constituents by way of education on available services and outreach programs.
I am a lifelong Democrat. My active roles in the community include serving as chair of the Pima County Animal Control Advisory Committee, being a P.C. for LD 11, and working on property tax legislation. If elected, I will be the first female assessor in Pima County's history. I am passionate about equality and equity for all in life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. As your next Assessor I will ensure that these values are reflected in the office by way of recruitment, and community outreach. Everyone inside the office and outside will be treated fairly and equally regardless of race, class, orientation or ability. By implementing these practices into the daily operations of the Assessor's office we will be doing our part to create a better future for all not just some.
I look up to my children and l follow their example everyday. Todays world is ever changing and, as we navigate to a better tomorrow, I believe that we need to look to our children and follow their lead. I raised my children with the values that were handed down to me by my parents and, just as I took those values and applied them to the reality of my generation, they are taking those values and applying them to theirs. I see and understand the tomorrow that they are working so hard to create and believe that by stepping back, supporting, watching, listening, and taking action directed by them we will get there. I am in aw of their awareness of themselves and those around them and the drive they have to ensure each person is treated equally and fairly in the new world they are creating. I can not wait to be a part of it and a part of their solution. Our children truly are our future.
The most important characteristics and principles of an elected official are integrity, honesty, fairness and compassion.
I am honest, compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable, driven, and have the innovative ideas that will make this office a valuable resource for our community.
Any cookbook! My family loves to congregate in the kitchen and cook together,
Baby Shark!!! I have very beautiful grandkids.
This office has the power and duty to the tax payers to do more than listing and value properties. The Assessor's office has the power and responsibility to make public the information they gather on the market trends that are effecting values, create more awareness in the public on programs available to our disadvantaged populations and non profits, and create better accessibility to members of the community that find it difficult to reach the downtown offices.
I believe that it is important that the holder of this office has experience in appraisal both inside and outside the office in order to be objective and independent of any bias that can form from having a one sided perspective. I believe that experience in our government and legislative process is beneficial as working with other government offices and officials is a must when dealing with statute and implementing policy changes.
The Assessor's office is a working office and a knowledge of appraisal and being able to translate an ever changing economic market into value is a must. The Assessor is responsible for managing over 130 employees and the budget that goes along with that so experience in management and budgeting is valuable. However, the most important skill the holder of this office can possess is the ability to be fair and equitable to everyone, residential and commercial property owners alike, and the ability to set aside biases based on personal perceptions. As the new Assessor I bring to the office 24 years of experience in management, customer service, real estate, and appraisal both inside and outside the assessor's office. I have the unique perspective, knowledge base, and extensive list of qualifications that will allow me to value properties and treat all tax payers fairly, equitably, and without bias. With these same qualities I will also turn the office into a true resource for our community.
