Suzanne J. Melendez was a judge for the New York City Criminal Court of Queens County, New York. She was appointed to this position in June of 1995 and was reappointed in 2001 and 2011. She has also served as an acting justice of the Supreme Court.[1][2]

Education

Melendez received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Chicago (1975) and her J.D. degree from the Duke University School of Law (1978).[1]

Career

Melendez began her career in 1978 as an assistant district attorney in Kings County. She worked in this capacity until her judicial appointment in 1995.[1]
