|- I will listen. As a representative of LD14, I am willing to listen to those that I represent. During the legislative session, on Saturdays, I plan on hosting open houses. At these events I can listen to the concerns of the citizens that I represent. I will also listen to experts who have knowledge about the issues that we must consider. I can listen.
- I will learn. As a legislator, I must make decisions about budget issues and legislation. I will research and gather information so that I am knowledgeable about the issues that influence our community and state. I will learn.
- I will lead. After listening and learning about the issue we must face, I will take action. I will introduce and support needed legislation. I will work with my colleagues in the House to build a budget and pass legislation. I am committed to collaborating and compromising. I will lead.
I hope to follow in Becky's footsteps as I serve in the Arizona legislature. I plan to open my home to the community for Saturday briefings - Pancakes and Politics! This will be one way I can continue in Becky Edward's tradition of listening to and learning from the community, and then acting in a way that will help and give hope.
I am hoping that we can level the playing field for our district and charter schools. If we are to be equitable, policies and funding practices should be the same.
