Suzanne Smith Childers was a domestic relations judge of Circuit 10 in Jefferson County, Alabama.[1][2] She was elected to the court in 2006 and left office at the end of 2012.[3]
Childers ran for the Jefferson County District Court in 2014.[4] She ran for the 25th Circuit Court in 2016. She was defeated in the Republican election on March 1, 2016.

General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 47.3 percent of the vote. She competed against incumbent John E. Amari.

Childers was defeated in the race for the 10th Circuit Court by Patricia Ann Stephens in the general election on November 6. Childers received 46.59% of the vote.[6][7][8]
Birmingham Bar Association ratings
In October, the Birmingham Bar Association compiled results of its Judicial Primary Qualifications Poll. 687 members of the association participated in the poll, though all members did not participate in each evaluation. Below are the candidate's results.[9]

- Unknown: 44%
Party affiliation
Childers was elected to the court in 2006 as a Democrat, but switched to the Republican party in 2010.[10]
Education
Childers received her law degree from the Birmingham School of Law and was admitted to the practice of law on September 23, 1983.[11]
