Swiss Foreign Criminal Deportation Referendum, 2010
A referendum regarding deportation in criminal cases was on the ballot in Switzerland on November 28, 2010. The referendum was designed to require the Swiss government to automatically deport persons who had been convicted of certain crimes to their country of origin.[1] The measure was approved.[2][3]
Support
The Swiss People’s Party led the petition effort to place the issue on the ballot, the Swiss government proposed a competing measure.[4]
