Sydney Brown Murphy is a judge of the Polk County Court in Texas. She was elected in 2014, effective January 1, 2015, for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[1]

Murphy ran for election to the Polk County Court.
Primary: She was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 38.2 percent of the vote. She competed against Benny Fogleman and Dan Ellis.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Murphy faced Fogleman in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. She won, earning 52.4% of the votes cast.
General: She defeated Keith Anderson in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 75.8 percent of the vote. [1][2]
