Sylvia Adamczyk
Sylvia Adamczyk was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 21 of the North Carolina State Senate.
Biography
Adamczyk earned her A.A. from Peace College in 1989, her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina, Pembroke, and his master's in School Administration/School Leadership from Fayetteville State University in 2008. Her professional experience includes working as the Director of Programs and Outreach for the Autism Society of Cumberland County (ASCC), as school administrator for Cumberland County Schools from 2006 to 2012, as a academically gifted consultant for Cumberland County Schools from 2004 to 2006 and as an elementary school teacher for Cumberland County Schools from 1994 to 2004.[1]

- Excerpt: "I believe that providing necessary local and state funded programs that offer workforce training and leadership programs will assist in the development of employees who can apply for these jobs in their community. In order to promote job creation I will work collaboratively with local and state leaders to assess opportunities for shared resources to strengthen small businesses. I intend to support local business development and institute small business loan opportunities."
Education
- Excerpt: "I will commit to increase school funding per child in North Carolina. I am committed to fight for Early Childhood Education program funding such as “Smart Start”. I intend to advocate for teacher contracts to be reinstated and for Master's degree pay to be recognized for compensation. In order to recruit, retain, and develop highly effective teachers, they must be treated as the professionals that they are by the state of North Carolina."
Healthcare
- Excerpt: "I believe that an issue impacting both Cumberland and Hoke County citizens addresses quality women's health care. I believe and intend to advocate for state programs that promote health education and preventative health care resources for women."

Elections for the North Carolina State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 28, 2014. Incumbent Ben Clark defeated Sylvia Adamczyk, Billy R. King and Eronomy Smith in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[3][4]
