Campaign themes

2014

Orozco highlighted the following issues on her campaign website:

TRUST that SYLVIA will continue to represent our children with dignity and professionalism.

Treating others with respect, Sylvia has built relationships of trust necessary to support our children’s education.

TRUST that SYLVIA continues to understand the governance process.
Understanding a Board Member’s role as part of a Governance Team, Sylvia continues to respect the roles of others and work with them collaboratively.

TRUST that SYLVIA will continue to represent the values of our community.
Sylvia supports strong and appropriate academic and curriculum standards along with the support services needed to give every student the opportunity to succeed.

TRUST that SYLVIA will continue to be fiscally responsible.
These most recent years have been the most challenging for education in California, facing the most severe state budget cuts of our lifetimes. As an accounting professional, Sylvia understands expenses should not exceed revenues and the District must continue to operate fiscally responsible.

TRUST that SYLVIA will continue to keep the well-being and ongoing success of our Children first.
Despite extraordinary financial storms around our students, they have continued outperforming year after year. Chino Valley Unified has come together in a remarkable way for our children’s sake and Sylvia attributes the collaborative effort by all the parents, teachers, education support staff, administrators, school board, and community contributors for our students’ ongoing success.[6]
