Sylvia Romo
Sylvia Romo was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 35th Congressional District of Texas.
Biography
Romo earned a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She received her certified public accountant designation in 1981. Her professional experience includes working as a CPA.
Romo served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. In 1996, she became the first woman to be elected to the Office of the Tax Assessor-Collector of Bexar County.

2012
Romo ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 35th District. She was defeated by incumbent Lloyd Doggett in the Democratic primary on May 29, 2012.[2]
Politico listed the 35th District race as one of the five primaries to watch in 2012.[3]
