An effort to recall T.J. Dow from his position on the city council of Cleveland, Ohio was launched in February 2012.[1] The recall effort did not result in a recall election. Dow represents Ward 7.
Reasons for recall
Clark Nelson, who managed Dow's 2008 city council campaign, initiated the recall effort. Nelson said Dow "does not represent the best interests" of his constituents and "promotes himself above the ward."[1]
Path to the ballot
Nelson obtained recall petitions on February 29th. Recall supporters had 30 days to obtain the signatures of 20% of voters who cast ballots in the last municipal election.[1] The recall effort came to an end when recall organizers did not submit signatures by the deadline.
