T.J. Thompson was a 2010 Libertarian candidate for Indiana's 6th Congressional District, and was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Indiana.

Thompson contemplated running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Indiana's 6th District. Thompson released a statement on February 5th, 2012 announcing that he would not be seeking the seat, opting to continue his duties as a writer and contributor for Conservative Daily News. Thompson would have sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[2] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of February 24, 2012. The primary elections took place on May 8, 2012.

Thompson began his campaign as an independent candidate in June 2009. He received the Libertarian Party nomination in April 2010, and was defeated by Mike Pence in the 2010 General Election.
