Hello, I'm Tami Holdahl. I'm running for the Idaho House of Representatives from District 2B.

I recently retired from law enforcement after 24 years, serving in nearly every position from patrol deputy to chief. I’m a graduate of the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy and was awarded the prestigious POST Executive Certificate, the highest honor given to Idaho peace officers. During my law enforcement career, I was an instructor at POST and North Idaho College.

While serving in law enforcement, I was City of St. Maries Mayor and City Councilor for eight years and volunteered as an Advanced EMT with St. Maries Ambulance for 16 years. I’m very involved in our community and enjoy volunteering for many activities from organizing Easter Egg Hunts to working at Paul Bunyan Days.

I’m married to Don Holdahl and have three grown children and nine grandchildren.

As a lifelong resident of St. Maries and with a lifetime of public service, I'm ready to represent the people of District 2. I'm running as an independent candidate and will listen and advocate for you and the best interests of Idahoans, not special interest groups.

Please vote for Tami Holdahl in the November General Election.
  • Idaho has become a hotbed of extremism as demonstrated by the 2024 Legislative session. This is destructive and wastes a tremendous amount of taxpayer money. I am concerned about the division in Idaho politics with affiliated Legislators coerced to vote along party lines and often just the opposite of what the Idaho people want. I am running as an independent candidate. I will listen to the people of District 2 and advocate for their best interests.
  • I am a fiscal conservative with extensive experience in managing budgets. The Legislature must stop passing laws that are obviously unconstitutional and then cost millions of dollars to defend in court. The Legislature must stop passing vindictive laws just because they can and then have no regard for the cost or harm done.
  • The Legislature should focus on key issues including healthcare, education, tax reform, infrastructure, etc. Most of the 2024 Legislative session was spent on divisive, fear mongering issues that took away freedom and were a waste of time and money.
I'm interested in providing better rural healthcare. I'm a supporter of Governor Little's Launch Program and hope that can be expanded as well as adequate funding for all public education. Property tax relief must be addressed including allowing the homeowner's exemption to follow the market.
Integrity. Follow through on what you have promised. Listen to the people.
Listen and advocate for the people you represent. Diligently study the issues, talk with your constituents, vote in a manner that will bring the greatest benefit for the people at the lowest cost.
To be remembered as a person who helped others.
Restore balance to the Idaho Legislature. The extremism demonstrated by the 2024 Legislature is destructive and very costly to taxpayers. Fiscal policy must also be addressed. Idaho has been fortunate to have budget reserves, but that is coming to an end. The Legislature must be more frugal with tax money.
Health and Welfare, Local Government, Resources and Conservation, Revenue and Taxation.
I'm a firm believer that government should be transparent and accountable. State Controller Brandon Woolf brought us Transparent Idaho, which is an excellent example of how transparency can bring accountability to government.
