Campaign website
Pierce's campaign website stated the following:
Public Safety & Victims First
Harris County families deserve to feel safe. I will prioritize public safety and put victims at the center, ensuring violent offenders are held accountable and communities are protected.
- Follow the law as written, not politics.
- Respect lawful sentences and conditions to protect the public.
- Treat victims with dignity at every stage.
Equal Justice — Fair & Impartial
Every person who enters the courtroom deserves fairness, integrity, and respect. I will listen to the facts, apply the law, and decide without fear or favor.
- Treat every litigant with civility and respect.
- Rule on the record, grounded in the Constitution and Texas law.
- Keep politics out of the courtroom.
Responsible Bail that Fits the Facts
Bail should reflect the seriousness of the offense, a defendant’s history, and risk to the community. I oppose rubber‑stamp PR bonds for repeat and violent offenders.
- Apply the new state requirements consistently for repeat/violent felonies.
- Use judicial discretion to set appropriate amounts — neither excessive nor symbolic.
- Require compliance and swift consequences for violations.
Accountability for Everyone in the Courtroom
Justice isn’t a slogan — it’s a process. I will hold all parties to high standards so outcomes are fair, lawful, and based on the record.
- Demand well‑supported charge decisions and plea agreements.
- Confirm defendants fully understand their rights before any plea is accepted.
- Enforce deadlines and courtroom professionalism.
Cutting the Case Backlog
Delays deny justice to victims and defendants alike. I will run an efficient, respectful docket that moves cases while safeguarding due process.
- Set clear expectations and realistic scheduling.
- Resolve straightforward matters quickly to free resources for serious cases.
- Use data and best practices to keep dockets current.
