Campaign themes

Kaufman issued the following statement regarding her bid for office:

I am considered a moderate Libertarian. I am fiscally conservative, I hate government waste. But when it comes to personal issues, people are capable of deciding how to live life without government intervention, if it does not hurt others; it is not the government’s business.

I want to help with the housing crisis in our region and throughout Oregon. Find solutions to utilize natural resources in a sustainable manner. Restore trust, honesty and integrity to the view of elected officials.

I am not a great politician, I forget people's names and faces, and I don't lie and pretend I do. But I am a GREAT elected official. I serve all the people not just a few and I remember issues and problems that need to be resolved. I am great with numbers and will find ways to improve the budget and via relationships on both sides of the aisle, I will get collaborative efforts to get things done. [6]
