I have served in the U.S. Army since I was 17 years old, as an enlisted Soldier. I continue to serve our country today as an U.S. Army officer, as a Lieutenant Colonel. I attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I earned a minor in Military Science and a BA in Political Science. I earned a double masters degree in MPA and WED. I also received my commission through the ROTC Program at SIUC. I deployed twice, once while Active duty in direct response to 9/11, and the second time with the Illinois National Guard at the MFO in Egypt. I am the managing Broker owner of a Real Estate Brokerage company. I also have a nonprofit organization that help homeless Veterans and the community. I am an elected official of Jackson County Board, board member for District 3. I serve on multiple boards and I help provide services to my community. I have been married over 22 years to my wonderful Husband Jason. I have dedicated my entire life to serve others and I believe this position as State Senator will allow me more opportunities to serve the residents of Illinois of the 59th District.
  • Economic Development and Jobs creation through infrastructure.
  • Affordable Healthcare through federal and state governments working together to provide grants and subsidies.
  • Veterans Healthcare benefits providing transportation to and from appointments so they are not penalized by having their appointments canceled after waiting months for very important procedures to be completed.
I believe in supporting local unions and apprenticeships programs, and making sure families have affordable Health Care. I believe in Economic Development and Jobs that will support a living wage for residents, and creating jobs through infrastructure. We need to provide good education for our children through public schools and give our children a safe place to grow and learn with affordable childcare. Provide additional Healthcare benefits to our Veterans to ensure they are able to get to and from appointments. I believe in affordable housing for working families and expanding the working family tax cut. Ensure there is fresh produce for children and help prevent food deserts for residents. I want to help give real solutions to residents.
Mike Barone - Jackson County Democratic Chair, Brandi Bradley - Williamson County Democratic Chair, and Endorsement by Illinois AFL-CIO
