Vercher's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
Education
- Excerpt: "While the council's authority is one in budgetary influence, as your councilperson, I will continue to advocate for resources for neighborhood schools in a collaborative manner by working with teachers, school board members, parents, non-profit organizations and area businesses."
Safety
- Excerpt: "Our community has excellent first responders; however, neighbors want the added comfort of safety while walking the neighborhood, walking the greenway, riding the MTA or shopping our community's businesses. I will work with our officers and fireman to ensure that our needs are met in a more responsive manner and they have the needed resources to meet this expectation."
Sustainability
- Excerpt: "Our community's diversity is our strength and the overall quality of our schools, neighborhoods, eateries, greenways and parks are reliant upon us collectively advocating for our interests. I will work to ensure that zoning does not impede on property values or the innocence of our community's children playing at parks and the greenways."
Infrastructure
- Excerpt: "Our community's utility systems and roadways are in need of desperate repair. The numerous water main breaks, storm water issues and conditions of our roads are clear indicators of such. I will work with the upcoming administration to ensure that our area is serviced with the same level of commitment as other parts of the city."
