Tangela Barrie is a judge of the Georgia 4th Superior Court District DeKalb Judicial Circuit. She assumed office on January 1, 2025. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Barrie ran for re-election for judge of the Georgia 4th Superior Court District Stone Mountain Circuit. She won in the general election on May 21, 2024.

Education

Barrie received her undergraduate degree from Albany State College and her J.D. from Stetson University. She was admitted to the bar in 1999.[1]

Career

After graduating from law school, Barrie served as a law clerk for a federal judge in Florida. After this position, she spent three years working in private practice in civil and administrative law. Directly before joining the superior court, Barrie served as an assistant district attorney in the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office.[2]

2012

Barrie ran unopposed for re-election to the Stone Mountain Superior Court.[3] She was re-elected after receiving 99.6% of the vote in the July 31 election.[4]
