Our community's future depends on our ability to meet surging electricity demand.

Families depend on coal to afford home energy rates.

Businesses depend on coal for investment and growth.

Maintaining and expanding coal capacity will enable families and businesses to thrive!
These local heroes hold our community together. They protect our homes and businesses. Effective emergency services lowers insurance premiums, enabling families and businesses to thrive. Our local departments are struggling with recruitment, retention, and affording equipment. They also face an uncertain funding outlook as the State considers consolidating local units of government. I will fight to ensure that our volunteer firefighters and EMS workers have the support and confidence they need to provide exceptional service to our community.
In 2017, lawmakers in Indianapolis raised the gas tax. Even worse, they created a law to allow the gas tax to keep rising over and over without needing to take another vote on the matter. Today, Indiana has the 5th highest gas tax in the nation. The Gas Tax hurts our community most because we drive bigger trucks and more miles than most anyone else. I will fight to eliminate the provision that allows the gas tax to raise without the legislature voting. That is taxation without representation. I will fight to reduce the gas tax itself. We need to fund our roads in a way that does not disproportionately harm our community.
It's the difference between the First World and the Third World.

1.9 Billion people live in places where the average annual electricity consumption is less than 1,000 kWh per capita - places like Nigeria, Bangladesh, & Haiti.

1,000 kWh is roughly what an older model refrigerator might use during a year, costing a typical American household $180.

Affordable, reliable electricity stabilizes social, economic, & cultural conditions to allow the greatest opportunities to the greatest number of people.
