Carson City, Nevada: Jerome Tao, chief deputy public defender of the Clark County Public Defender's Office, will replaced retired Judge David Wall on the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court. Tao was appointed to this position by Gov. Sandoval on January 6, 2011 and was one of three finalists recommended by the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection. Gov. Sandoval commended him, saying, "His legal reasoning and insight will bring a broad new perspective to the bench." Tao has worked in private practice in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and has served in the Clark County District Attorney's Office. He will be required to run in a retention election in 2012.[1][2]
