Tara Hovey ran for judge on the Clare/Gladwin County Probate Court in 2012.

Hovey was appointed to the 55th Circuit Court, Michigan in 2022 by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.


2012 election

Hovey advanced from the primary election on August 7, after receiving 28.89% of the vote. She was defeated by Marcy Klaus in the general election on November 6, receiving 45.42% of the vote.[1][2][3]

Education

Hovey received her undergraduate degree in 1992 from Central Michigan University. She earned her J.D. from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1995.[4]
