’m Tate Holcombe, a lifelong Alpharetta resident, father, and creative professional who’s proud to call this city home. I grew up here and am now raising my daughter here, giving me a deep appreciation for the people, parks, and community spirit that make Alpharetta special. Professionally, I serve as a Creative Director at a nationally recognized media agency, where I lead a team that produces award-winning campaigns seen across the country. My background in design, storytelling, and strategy has taught me the importance of collaboration, clear communication, and creative problem-solving — skills that carry through every aspect of my work and community involvement.
  • Families First Alpharetta is at its best when it’s built around families. From our parks to our schools to our neighborhoods, every decision we make should strengthen the sense of community that makes this city special. I’m focused on keeping Alpharetta a place where families of all ages can thrive — safe, supported, and proud to call this city home.
  • Communication That Works for Our City Too often, residents feel like decisions are made before they ever hear about them. I believe good leadership starts with listening. I want to make communication between City Hall and citizens more open, proactive, and accessible — so people know what’s happening, when, and how it affects them.
  • Smart Growth That Works for Families Growth is inevitable — but it should always make sense for our city and the families who live here. That means responsible development that aligns with our land use plan, protects our quality of life, and ensures infrastructure keeps pace with progress. Growth should serve our community, not overwhelm it.
I’m focused on keeping Alpharetta safe, growing responsibly, and protecting our quality of life. That means fully supporting police and fire, ensuring development aligns with our land use plan, and keeping infrastructure and roads in step with growth. I want to strengthen communication between City Hall and residents, invest in parks and recreation that bring families together, and maintain Alpharetta’s strong financial standing through transparent, responsible budgeting. Every decision should put families and community first
I believe the most important traits for anyone serving on City Council are pretty simple: communication, a willingness to listen, the humility to say “I don’t know,” and a clear vision for the future. Too often, government gets stuck doing things the same way just because that’s how it’s always been done. I think residents deserve leaders who actually listen, ask questions, and aren’t afraid to admit when they need to learn more before making a decision. Communication shouldn’t stop at election season, it should be an ongoing conversation between the city and the people who live here. And while I have a deep respect for the work that’s built Alpharetta into the great city it is today, I also believe we can’t afford to coast. We need to keep planning ahead, with vision, creativity, and purpose to make sure Alpharetta stays one of the best places to live for generations to come.
At its core, serving on City Council is about responsibility — to keep our city safe, to listen to the people who call it home, and to make sure we’re planning for the future, not just reacting to it. Public safety will always be a top priority for me. Alpharetta should remain a place where families feel secure and first responders have the support they need to do their jobs well. Just as important is listening — not just hearing residents, but truly understanding their concerns before decisions are made. And we have to think long-term. The choices we make today shape the Alpharetta our kids will inherit. That means being proactive about growth, protecting what makes our city special, and making sure we’re building a future that keeps Alpharetta great for years to come.
My first job was as a cashier at Publix, and honestly, I loved it. I was there for about three years, and it taught me a lot about people and hard work. I enjoyed getting to know the regulars who came through my line every week you start to feel like part of their routine, and that was something special. I also jumped at every opportunity to cross-train, whether it was bagging, stocking, or helping in other departments. I wanted to learn how the whole store worked, not just my register. Looking back, it was a great early lesson in teamwork, communication, serving others, and taking pride in the small details all things that still shape how I work and lead today.
