Campaign themes
2014
Kelly's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
- Abortion
- Excerpt: "Tavish believes, as a matter of both spirit and science, that human beings are people from the moment of conception, in possession of all those rights that are endowed in every person. Abortion is a violent trespass upon those rights, and should be regarded as but another form of murder. However, this rule is not one to be determined or imposed by the Federal government."[1]
- The Federal Reserve
- Excerpt: "It is time for America to take a closer look at the Federal Reserve’s policies, and ask ourselves whether we want to leave our money in hands of unelected “experts” or let free market be truly free."[1]
- Gun Rights
- Excerpt: "While in Congress, Tavish will actively work to repeal unconstitutional laws such as the National Firearms Act, Gun Control Act, and Brady Act, as well as prevent further incursions on the right to self-defense."[1]
- "PATRIOT" Act
- Excerpt: "Despite its name, the PATRIOT Act does little more than circumvent the Constitution to effectively repeal the 4th Amendment."[1]
- Sanctity of Marriage
- Excerpt: "Tavish will champion the effort to free marriage from government infringement in Congress. He will work to repeal those statutes that attempt to define and control it, establish laws that treat every person as an individual, and leave marriage to God."[1]
