My name is Taylor Culliver, I’m a proud South Carolinian, and I’m running to be District 8’s next State Senator.

I grew up in a middle-class family, with hard-working parents and a community that believed in my ability to make a difference.

Today I’m a devoted husband and father; a nonprofit director; entrepreneur; and a mentor.

I’ve had years of experience practicing what it means to be a good servant leader: listening deeply; collaborating across lines of difference; and reminding people that we’re all in this together.

I believe we can preserve what makes our communities special, while empowering everyone with the resources and freedom to live a good life.

I’m running for State Senate because we need new courageous leadership, fresh ideas, and a representative that puts people first. I believe that together we can build a happier, healthier, safer South Carolina for all of us.
  • I'm focused on pragmatic solutions that make District 8 stronger and ensure everyone in our community has the freedom and opportunity to live a good life.
  • We have a groundbreaking opportunity right now to shape what the future of our district and the state is going to look like. In order to do that, we need courageous leaders in Columbia who are willing to listen, bring fresh ideas to the table, and represent our best interests.
  • This November, after 12 years of the same representation, we can choose a better way forward — for our families and our community.
Smarter Growth & Stronger Infrastructure: I'm committed to preserving what makes our community special, while making bold investments in our infrastructure.

Affordability for Housing, Healthcare, and Child Care: I'm committed to lowering costs and helping families keep more of their hard-earned money.

Reproductive Freedom: I'm committed to defending and expanding reproductive freedom.

Public Education: I'm committed to championing every child’s potential with a high quality education.

Gun Safety: I'm committed to keeping our families safe by reducing gun violence and supporting law enforcement.

Economic Opportunity: I'm committed to supporting workers and small businesses, and building an economy that leaves none of us behind.
I believe the best representatives are incredible listeners, and have a genuine interest in what their constituents want. A good representative needs to be collaborative and willing to compromise. Above all, a good representative should lead with integrity, putting people above power and instilling hope and possibility in the people they serve.
I’ve had years of experience practicing what it means to be a good servant leader: listening deeply; collaborating across lines of difference; and reminding people that we’re all in this together.
The 5 People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. It's a good example of the ways in which we have an affect on people's lives, even when we don't realize it. Everything we do matters and can make a difference.
