A Taylor Township Property Tax Levy Increase question was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Union County, which is in Ohio, where it was defeated.
If approved, this question would have authorized the Township of Taylor to impose a property tax levy of up to 5.75 mills ($5.75 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for five years in order to fund Fire, Ambulance, Paramedic and other emergency medical services.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | An additional tax for the benefit of Taylor Township for the purpose of PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING FIRE APPARATUS, APPLIANCES, BUILDINGS, OR SITES THERE OF, OR SOURCES OF WATER SUPPLY AND MATERIALS THEREFOR, OR THE PAYMENT OF FIREFIGHTERS OR FIREFIGHTING COMPANIES TO OPERATE THE SAME, INCLUDING THE PAYMENT OF THE FIREFIGHTER EMPLOYERS’ CONTRIBUTION REQUIRED UNDER SECTION 742.34 OF THE REVISED CODE, OR TO PURCHASE AMBULANCE EQUIPMENT, OR TO PROVIDE AMBULANCE, PARAMEDIC, OR OTHER EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES OPERATED BY A FIRE DEPARTMENT OR FIREFIGHTING COMPANY AND FOR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER THROUGH THE UNION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE at a rate not exceeding 5.75 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.58 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2013, first due in calendar year 2014.[1][2] | ” |
