An effort to recall four members of the Tecumseh School Board in Michigan began in 2009. The effort failed due to insufficient signatures submitted to the Lenawee County Clerk. Members targeted for recall included Louis Englund, Dan Gunder, Karen Januszek and Kevin Packard.[1]
Recall support arguments
Resident Dave Govro led the effort to remove board members due to anger by district residents over a new $2.1 million athletic complex.[2]

Recall organizers were required to submit 1,695 signatures for each member. This amount equaled 25 percent of registered voters in the district who voted in the last gubernatorial election.[3] The county clerk verified 1,560 signatures against Januszek and 1,538 against Packard in November 2009, which fell below the requirement signature totals.[1]
