Tennessee Chancery Courts
The Tennessee Chancery Courts are trial courts of general jurisdiction in Tennessee. In general, they share jurisdiction with the Tennessee Circuit Courts. There is a chancery court in each of the state's 31 judicial districts.[1]
Methods of selection and judge terms
The judge who presides over a chancery court is referred to as a "chancellor". Chancellors are elected in partisan elections for eight-year terms.
