Our state and federal governments have been operating outside their constitutional bounds for decades and it needs to end.

The plain language of the state and federal constitutions are being ignored by the usurpers of liberty currently serving in elected office.

The major political parties in our Republic are destroying it, much as George Washington warned us they would.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Larry Linton (Independent)

A complete restoration of the role where the people, and the states are the sovereign of the federal government. All other reforms, or restoration, is dependent upon returning to the originally intended constitutional roles of all levels of government where ALL power is inherent in the people.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Larry Linton (Independent)

Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Thomas Paine and my father Phil Eddy. I would like to follow the example of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and along with the residents of Tennessee House District 12 state this to our currently elected usurpers of liberty in Nashville - "With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

The founding documents of our state and nation, along with the Federalist Papers.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Servant leadership.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Larry Linton (Independent)

I know what it means to swear and follow an oath to the Constitution.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Larry Linton (Independent)

Adherence to their oath of office.
