My name is Tennyson Moreno and I’m your candidate for State Representative, HD45!

I come from a lower middle class, single mother home and have been a lifelong Texan. I got my pilot's license in highschool and have been interested in airplanes since I was a little kid. I fly regularly and get to fly some amazing planes such as World War Two bombers, and open air bi-planes! My background is in aviation, logistics, and Texas politics and with these experiences I have the know how to get the job done right to make your life safer, cheaper, and better.

When I’m not campaigning and knocking doors, I volunteer with the Commemorative Air Force, and serves as Vice-Chair of the Airport Advisory Board for the San Marcos Regional Airport. I am a proud Texas State Bobcat and live in San Marcos. At 24, I’m currently the youngest State Representative Candidate in Texas, and I look forward to serving you in Austin while being your voice in our State Legislature!
  • Public safety & Safe Neighborhoods: I support our law enforcement community want to see our neighborhoods be protected, safe and free from crime. Unfortunately, we have seen a rise in drugs, crime, gang activity, and violence along I-35. I have had family, friends, neighbors pass away from drug overdose, and have seen the effects of fentanyl in our community. Our elected officials must do more to protect Texans.
  • Lowering Taxes & Abolishing Property Tax: The State of Texas is fortunate enough to have a budget surplus, which means our state legislature should abolish the property tax and residential homes and small businesses. This would not only allow homeowners to have more access to their hard earned money, but would also make it easier for first time homeowners and new families to purchase homes in Texas, and and allow for small businesses to set up shop, expand, and run their business with more profit in their pockets – all of which benefits the communities and our great state of Texas
  • Infrastructure: With interstate I-35 running through the heart of District 45, infrastructure is a key issue facing all residents in our communities. As one of the fastest growing counties in the entire nation, we must work and plan for infrastructure; to not only work today but to work 25 and 50 years in the future. Exploring new ideas and possibilities is absolutely vital if we are to play a key roll in the states economy. Our area is growing – and there’s no stopping it. We must worked to improve our infrastructure and access to communities.
With my background and logistics, I am very passionate about infrastructure, particularly our airports, railroads, and roads.
As an avid outdoorsman, I’m also passionate about the beautiful Hill Country and preserving Texas environments and agriculture. As every Texas State Bobcat will tell you, the San Marcos river is a beautiful gem which must be preserved and protected. With the mass migration of people and businesses coming into our district, we must balance the needs of businesses and the community, with protecting and preserving our beautiful Hill Country. We must protect our beautiful rivers, aquifers, and ensure water access for all who choose to live here.
A state representatives core responsibility is just that – being the people’s representative to the state. In order to do this, the state representative has to be within the community, be present in the community, and listen to the community regardless, if they voted for you or not. Representation is not about a party. It’s about the people. We need a representative who represent all within the district not just the ones who voted for them, and share the same special interest.
I worked several cash jobs when I was young. Everything for mowing yards, washing cars to cleaning up airplane hangers if there was a job to be done, I have done it. Still to this day. I have always had some type of cash job just to make ends meet and have a little extra spending money.
Absolutely. In order to get Bill‘s past and get done for the community you must work together – regardless of party – to find common ground to work for the betterment of all Texans.
My opponent

(Kidding)

(Or am I)
The first bill I wish to introduce is a bill focused on fentanyl, drugs, and those affected by overdose. The bill would allow for law enforcement to have more tools to fight the necessary battles to keep drugs off our streets. It would also open the door and remove the stigma from overdose, helping those affected by addiction and drug use by providing counseling, mentorship, and opportunities to help return them to a more normal life.
When I get elected, I would like to serve on one of these committees because of my background, experiences, or how important this committee is to my district. Those committees are: Higher Education, Transportation, National Resources.
We are a government of the people, and the people must have access to easy understand reports to keep government officials accountable.
