Teresa Petelos
Teresa Bearden Petelos was a criminal division judge of Circuit 10. She served the Bessemer Division of Jefferson County, Alabama.[1] She took office in 1995. She lost re-election in 2012 and left the court at the end of that year.[2]
Education
Judge Petelos received her B.A. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1980 and her J.D. from the Birmingham School of Law in 1984.[2][3]
Career
Judge Petelos was admitted to the practice of law on September 26, 1986. During law school, she was elected constable in Jefferson County. She was then appointed Jefferson County tax collector.[3]
2012 election

Petelos was defeated by David Carpenter in the general election on November 6, receiving 47.79 percent of the vote.[4]
