Biography

Teresa Tachon was born in Syracuse, New York. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1986 and a graduate degree in 1990 from the State University of New York, Potsdam. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2008. Her career experience includes working as a public school teacher and college professor of mathematics.[1]

Teresa Tachon was born in Syracuse, New York, and has been living in Orlando, Florida since 1990. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from State University of New York at Potsdam in 1986, a master’s degree in instructional technology from SUNY Potsdam in 1990, a specialist in education degree from the University of Florida in 2002, and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Florida in 2008. Tachon is a 35-year public school mathematics teacher and college professor. The daughter of a police officer, Tachon learned the value of public service as a young girl. She saw the positive impact her father had on his community and she worked tirelessly to do the same in her Central Florida community through education. During her 35-year career, she has served as a classroom teacher, track coach, mentor, club sponsor, union representative, College Board reader, and college professor. She believes all children deserve a quality public school education, beginning in pre-kindergarten. Tachon also believes in protecting American’s civil rights, access to quality healthcare, affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and protecting the environment. She is running for Congress to make these items a reality.
