Jackson is the presiding justice of the First District Court of Appeal, Division 5 in California. Jackson was appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on July 9, 2021, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Barbara J.R. Jones.[1]
Jackson previously served as a justice for the First District Court of Appeals Division 3 in California from 2020 to 2021.[2]
She also served as a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco in California. Jackson joined the court in 2002 and resigned in 2020 after receiving an appointment to the California Court of Appeals.[3]

Jackson earned her B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz and her J.D. from Georgetown University.[4]
