Teron Haynes was born in Centreville, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army from 2013 to 2018. He earned a bachelor's degree from Methodist University in 2021. His career experience includes working as an investigator.[1]

Teron Haynes is a write-in candidate for Detroit's District 5 Board of Police Commissioner seat. He is a traditionally educated Forensic Scientist. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Applied Forensic Science and Justice Studies. He is also completing his masters degree in Public Administration.

Teron Haynes has a background in investigations and finds deep passion in anything involving justice. He also spent 5 years in the United States Army, earning multiple service medals and awards including an Army Achievement Medal for orchestrating a blood drive while serving.

Teron Haynes is a public servant with a deep passion for creating reasonable, responsible, and respectable solutions. Haynes is looking to bring his investigative expertise, understanding of justice , and police practices to a board that is looking for structure and wisdom.
  • Structure and strengthen the Board of Police Commissioners through collaborative efforts with Detroit's city council and other legislative entities.
  • Reinstitute the Board of Police Commissioners right to oversee the Detroit Police Department by utilizing the City's Charter and all of its designated rights afforded to board.
  • Cooperate with the Detroit Police Department in incorporating new policy that creates a balance between sworn officer's physical and mental health in an effort to make Detroiters feel safer about the officers serving them.

I am tolerant and respectful. I enlisted in the Army at 17 so my formative years were spent learning how to work with all types of people.
To fortify the bridge that connects the citizens of Detroit to the Detroit Police Department. Also to bring just criticism/critique to the police department and discipline when necessary.
