Terrence E. Conkel was an assistant chief judge for the Minnesota First Judicial District, serving in McLeod County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this court on August 28, 1998, and was elected to a full term in 2000. He was retained in 2006 and 2012.[1] In February 2017, Conkel announced plans to retire from the court in August 2017.[2]

Education

Conkel received his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Creighton University School of Law in 1976.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the District Court, Conkel worked as an attorney and shareholder of Gavin, Olson, Conkel & Savre, LTD from 1977 to 1998. He began his career in 1976 as a judicial law clerk on the Third Judicial District.[3]

Elections

2012

Conkel ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[1] He received 99.19 percent of the vote.[4]
