Terri Stoneburner
Terri J. Stoneburner (b. 1948) was a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. She was originally appointed to this position by then-governor Jesse Ventura on March 8, 2000 and was then elected to six-year terms in 2002 and 2008. She retired on April 1, 2014, having announced the previous year.[1][2]
Education
Judge Stoneburner received her B.A. degree from Hanover College in 1967 and her J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1975. After graduating from Hanover, she served in the U.S. Peace Corps in West Africa until 1970.[1]
Career
After law school, Judge Stoneburner worked as a volunteer attorney for VISTA[3] for a year. She worked as a staff attorney for the State of Alaska Commission for Human Rights from 1977 to 1979. In 1980, she joined Farrish, Johnson, Maschka Attorneys at Law. She became a partner of this firm in 1984. While working at this firm, from 1980 to 1986 she taught classes at Mankato State University. In 1990, she became a district court judge for the 5th District. She became the assistant chief judge of this court in 1997 and held this position until her appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
