Policy Positions

As of May 6, 2009, the "Issues" page of Huntington's website is "coming soon."[2]

She refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[3]

Sen. Huntington's recently sponsored/co-sponsored legislation includes:

  • H 2245 Fair credit reporting act, credit freeze. 02/05/2009
  • H 5003 Kansas constitutional amendment; equal rights; no discrimination based on sex. 01/23/2009[4]

Targeted

Huntington is one of eight Republican incumbents that the Kansas Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee has targeted for defeat in 2012. It sees the eight incumbents as being impediments to private sector job creation and has made $1,000 donations and in-kind contributions to the Republican challengers.[5]

Huntington did not file to run for re-election.
