My name is Terry Haines. I am now retired. I've been involved in politics for 35 years and worked for about 40 years.
  • We can say "enough is enough" to government debt by passing the Convention of States (COS) referendum and producing a Constitutional Balanced Budget Amendment. Every man, woman, and child now owes the federal government $100,000 in federal debt. This causes inflation. Other government programs will quickly become unable to exist as we service the national debt. This can ONLY be solved at a state level and MUST be done ASAP.
  • We can permanently reduce gas prices and simultaneously clean up our environment by following a plan suggested by NASA rocket scientist Robert Zubrin in his book Energy Victory. This plan will make us permanently somewhat immune to OPEC actions or bad federal energy policy.
  • I've worked with five small businesses, one Fortune 500 company, and one institution in my life. I have never owned a business, but have often been within the top 5% of the company. I've advised often. I have twice made a company an extra $1-5 million. Once a company chose not to take my advice and lost over ten million dollars. I want to help Michigan out in that way.
Religious and medical freedom.

I want to legally forbid large corporations such as BlackRock from buying out single family dwellings and renting them out. Right now 44% of single family homes are owned by BlackRock and rented out.
If I have to choose between the "needs" of the 10 million Michigan citizens or the wealthiest 100 individuals or corporations in Michigan, I will choose the welfare of the vast majority every time.

The Democratic Party has an unholy alliance with the nation's billionaires because they prolonged the Covid-19 lock downs and made many, many billionaire corporations very, very happy in the process. I believe the small businesses are the heart of our nation's economic engine.
Donald Trump, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, Ron and Rand Paul.
I believe less government is more freedom. I believe in maximizing free speech. If you want to get rid of truth, it has to be suppressed. If you want to get rid of error, it is done by exposing the error.
The Making of America by W. Cleon Skousen

The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin
Energy Victory by Robert Zubrin

Any original source documents from our nation's founders.
Knowledge of our nation's founding principles.
One ballot = the actual vote of an adult citizen.
To protect the rights of our citizens so tht they can prosper in maximum freedom.
I want a better life for my grandchildren, financially and health-wise and morally. I believe in order. I want the right-thinking poor man to win over the well-lawyered rich man.
Working as a cleanup man in a plastics factory - age 16. I had it until I graduated from high school.
The Bible. It humbles me and gives me needed wisdom and encouragement.
Hmmm. Who put the bop in the bop-si-bop-si bop?
Making the best use of my time and money. But I think that is a struggle for everyone.
The majority of the state house and the state senate should be able to negate any action by the governor.
Right now the state budget is up tremendously, busy buying votes rather than caring for the need of the state's citizens.
No. The "experts" often expertly fill the pockets of donors or special interests. Often previous political experience is exactly what you DO NOT want.
Yes. I will agree as often as I can with as many other legislators as I can. But I will not go in as a potted plant or as a drone for the Republican party. I will take each issue apart in my own mind and weigh its benefits and its costs.
Anything on Dilbert comics. It's too true too often. I'm also a Calvin and Hobbs fan. I have ALL of his comics.
Governments are good at creating the emergencies that give them more power. They create the problem, then they reveal the "solution." I will carefully scrutinize any supposed need for more governmental powers.
I will support the Convention of States movement. Then I will sponsor the plan laid out by Robert Zubrin in his book, Energy Victory. These will both be strongly opposed by well financed establishment types but are popular with the general citizenry.
A few. See cteterryhaines.com and look under References.
Uncertain at this time.
I can't think of any state government documents that should be hidden from the public.
I do ask the question why only Democratic initiatives make it to the ballot. I suspect fraud in the process.

Thirty years ago, when I first became involved in politics, I asked candidates how we can create the best government with the lowest possible taxes. It has been an obsession of mine ever since. Small government with self-governing people is the best government.
  • I will permanently lower gas prices. See cteterryhaines.com for details.
  • I will relentlessly fight for voter integrity and representative government.
  • I will champion the Consvention of States cause.
Our voting system is seriously broken. According to Mike Lindell, we were cyber attacked in our 2020 election. According to Sydney Powell, there were many, many voting irregularities and illegalities. According to Dinesh D'Sousa's recent documentary, there was ballot fraud at an unprecedented level. We must return to representative government, where our leaders are elected, not selected.

Secondly, Michigan is now just a wholly owned subsidiary of the federal government. This can only change with the passage in Michigan and other states of the Convention of States.

With these foundations we can once again lay down a framework where we have maximum personal freedoms and minimum government.
