Terry Swinger (b. February 8, 1941) is a former Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 162 from winning a special election in November 2003 to January 2013. Swinger previously served as Minority Caucus Chair.
Swinger earned his OD in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry Memphis, Tennessee and also attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has worked as an Optometrist since 1965.
Swinger is a member of the American Optometric Association, Boy Scouts of America, Caruthersville Chamber of Commerce, Caruthersville Library Board, Caruthersville Lodge # 461 AF & AM, and the Caruthersville Library Board.[1]

Swinger ran in the 2012 election for Missouri State Senate, District 25. Swinger ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and was defeated by Doug Libla (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
