Biography

Terry Turner was born in Henderson, North Carolina. He served in the United States Marine Corps from August 1970 to August 1972. Turner received his bachelor's degree in 1977 after attending Louisburg Junior College and Western Carolina University and a graduate degree from Western Carolina Universoity in 1978. As of the 2019 election, he was retired.[1]

I am a proven dedicated servant who gets things done with confidence, vision, and courage. I have actively served on the Town Council, and numerous Town, County, and church committees, chairing several. I am also an old Marine and retired state worker. I hold four college degrees. One is in political science. The essence of leadership is action and i am very active, hands-on mayor. I am deeply involved in most every aspect of town government. I work very hard to be worthy of the trust the citizens of Butner have placed in me. I am the best candidate because I strive to help the people I serve. I listen to them and work for and with them. They are my first and foremost priority.
  • I wish to continue improving the quality of life in our town. I will continue to ensure our citizens enjoy the best streets, sidewalks,recreation facilities, and public buildings possible.
  • I wish to continue developing our community. I am still attempting to control development and keep our small-town atmosphere. I am currently pursuing retail developers for our Gateway, multi-use project.
  • Water and sewer are vital to any community, which is I am actively working close with our water and sewer authority to seek lasting solutions to their concerns.
I worked extremely hard to acquire for the Town some State property. It provides a passion for me to help seek positive, worthwhile uses, so the people can began to reaping the rewards.
My background, experience and education have enabled me to honorably serving my nation, state and town. The sum of all my life experience has formed me into an uniquely qualified best mayor possible.
Integrity, intelligence, and sociability are important in holding office.
I help the world become a better place.
The assassination of president John F. Kennedy. I was 14 years old at the time.
I delivered newspapers for two years.
One has to gain experience somewhere, there previous is not a requirement to hold office but it helps to have an experience person at the the helm.
Leadership, knowledge of the job, and good communication skills make the best office holders.
