What legacy would you like to leave?

I want to bring positive change to TX House District 39, I want to be able to leave on my terms and feel that I accomplished that.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

I’d have to say the first historical event that happened in my lifetime that I actually remember would be the tragic events of 9/11. I was 11 years old sitting in band class when our instructor told us what was happening.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Jimmie Garcia (R)

My first job was being a Security Guard and I held that job for about 4 yrs.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Jimmie Garcia (R)

My favorite book is Ramses: The Son of Light Volume 1. I love Egyptian history.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Jimmie Garcia (R)

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

Jimmie Garcia (R)

No, I do not believe that prior experience is necessary. Living life and experiencing it is all you need to know what needs to be changed. Long gone should be the days of career politicians.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Jimmie Garcia (R)

Yes, compromise should be made on both sides. Nothing will ever be perfect for all sides but we can get close.
