Thad Altman (Republican Party) was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 32. He assumed office on November 8, 2022. He left office on November 5, 2024.

Altman (Republican Party) won re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 32 outright in the general election on November 8, 2022, after the Republican primary and general election were canceled.


Biography

Thad Altman was born in Macon, Georgia. Altman earned an A.A. from Eastern Florida State College in 1977 and a B.S. from Rollins College in 1987. His career experience includes working as the president of the Astronauts Memorial Foundation. Altman has served as a board member of the National Space Club of Florida.[1]

Elections for the Florida State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Thad Altman defeated Monique Miller in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election. Lloyd Stanton French (I) withdrew from the race in early September.[7][8][9]

Decision to self-quarantine for coronavirus on March 9, 2020

On March 9, 2020, Altman announced that he would self-quarantine after having recently attended the Conservative Political Action Conference, where an attendee tested positive for the coronavirus. Altman returned to work the next day after being cleared by the Florida Department of Health.[14]
