I am the son of wonderful parents, who along with great teachers and many work-related and relational experiences, are to be credited for any good that I have done. I have been poured into by my teachers and professors up through my master program and I strongly desire to help my community through the gifts that I have been given. I am the President of our 4th generation family business. I am a long-term chairman of the board of several significant organizations. I have led almost every organization I have been associated with since I was a young man. I am now 51 years young. I do not NEED this statehouse "job". I do not believe that our current (appointed for political expediency) state rep is qualified to help our County and so I am compelled to do something other than criticize his performance.
  • Actually(!) standing for our core conservative principles enumerated in our Ohio and Federal Constitution. Freedom is the key element so that citizens have a say in their success, even in a fallen world.
  • Dealing in a proactive way with the good / ill that has come upon this district due to the Intell announcement. I am a Civil Engineer who actually understands how to plan for this type of event. I can do more than just report on the whirlwind of activity that this issue has caused
  • Life can be very hard at times and so compassion for hurting people is important. I have had my share of difficulty thrust upon me and so have become more gentle as I have aged. Public policy that steers the ship of state should have a realization of this reality. This calls for wisdom as we must balance all the competing issues. Sometimes that means that the state should stay out of some things that local government and organitzations can do better.
Constitutional freedom issues, job and business issues, fiscal responsible spending / tax policy
Jesus, who is God incarnate. He requires, and is worthy of, all my devotion because He loves me and gave himself for me to win me.

My Father. Because he was given a spirit of wisdom and was patient with me

Abraham Lincoln. Because he loved his county more than his life
I am a hard charging type A that the years have mellowed. I have a rather large reservoir of experiences to draw upon to make good public policy.
"He served with integrity, wisdom and knowledge"
picking up nails and cleaning up construction sites. I started very young and progressed every year in responsibility until I completed my college work and then eventually moved into the office to assume the corporate leadership of the company.
I have had many struggles granted to me, all for my good but I strive to know how to best respond

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Ohio

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
