Jill Pryor

The United States Senate confirmed Jill Pryor to the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit on September 8, 2014, on a vote of 97-0.[1] At the time of her appointment, Pryor was a partner at the law firm of Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, LLP. She started with the firm in 1989 and rose to the position of partner in 1997. Pryor's career began as a law clerk for Judge James L. Edmondson of the Eleventh Circuit. She earned her B.A. from the College of William & Mary in 1985 and her J.D. from Yale in 1988. Pryor's confirmation, which came 935 days after nomination, filled a vacancy created by Stanley Birch, Jr., who retired in 2010. The confirmation removed one of the vacancies on the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. The vacancy warning level fell from yellow to blue.
