- Join Ballotpedia's Congressional legislative battlegrounds webinar as our expert reviews Senate battleground races. Ballotpedia identified eight competitive Senate elections out of the 34 total races. Republicans are more vulnerable to losing seats in the Senate during this election, due to the fact that Republicans hold more seats that are up for re-election.
