Thea A. Sherry
Thea Anne Sherry was a circuit court judge for Division 5 of the 21st Circuit Court in Missouri.[1] On February 4, 2011 Sherry was appointed as a new Circuit Judge by Governor Jay Nixon, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of John F. Kintz.[2] Her term expired in 2018.[3][4]
Education
Judge Sherry attended the University of Colorado-Boulder from June 1967 to May 1968 and the University of California-Riverside for her Bachelor of Arts in history from 1968 to 1971. She also attended a summer course at Exeter College in Oxford, England for a graduate course in British History in 1971. Sherry later earned her J.D. from Washington University in 1974.[5]
Career
Sherry worked in a private practice for 17 years and served with the St. Louis County Public Defender's Office for three years prior to her time on the bench. She served as an associate circuit judge for the 21st Circuit Court beginning in 1998. She also works as an adjunct professor of law at Washington University School of Law.[5][2]
